Ubud - Jewelry making

While the boys were back in the Monkey Forest, the girls departed on quite a different adventure. Alea had received some Christmas money from Aunt Nancy and Uncle Bill.  She wanted to do something really special with it, and we really found that something special in Ubud, Bali.

Alea chose to make a charm bracelet.  She designed a flower (you can see it in the solution to the right) and a dolphin charm.  She also bought several others to fill out the linked bracelet.

There was a silversmith shop where you could sign up for lessons and make your own jewelry. And this really meant make-your-own!  The instructor handled the blowtorch (though we pumped the forge) but we did everything else.

Mom made a necklace with 3 concentric circles to loop on a string of leather.  It was a wonderful mother-daughter morning. The jewelry really looked wonderful as the family explored one of the oldest religious sites in Ubud.
